POSITION SUMMARY
The HS&E Officer provides support to the Health and Safety Manager to ensure coordination and smooth running of the business by providing high level, effective and confidential information. This position is integral in the management of the corporate Health and Safety programs at the remote camp locations and be able to advise middle management across all corporate divisions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The HS&E officer performs some or all of the following duties:
• Documentation of all HS&E records including WCB claims, Total Recordable Injury Frequency (TRIF) reports, recordable injuries et al
• Act as a resource to management to ensure alignment of company HS&E initiatives
• Maintain documentation related to National, regional and local HS&E programs
• Orientation of new staff on HS&E policies, procedures, and programs
• Implementation of HS&E programs
• Investigation of HS&E incidents as well as workplace safety
• Performs safety audits (company and COR)
• Verifying the use of the Optics program at a Companywide level
• Develop systems of control and the communication of these systems to the organization
• Implementing controls and monitoring compliance
• Coordinate and conduct HS&E training program and maintain documentation at the office level
• Coordinate regular site safety visits to remote camps locations
• Posting of safety policies and procedures to ensure safe work practices
• Act as a resource in the development of Standard Work Practices as needed
• Update all safety registries (ISN, HSE, Canqual)
• Update safety matrix
• Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
• Completion of post secondary degree or diploma in Health and Safety is usually required
• Completion of secondary school is required
• Completion of federally and provincially recognized Health and Safety programs is usually required
• Must be fluent in English both oral and written
• Be a ENFORM COR auditor
• An ACSA COR auditor will be an asset
• 3- 5 years experience in the Gas and Oil industry
• Must have minimum of valid class 5 drivers license
